Mera Peak

Nepal
18/10/2019 - 08/11/2019     COMPLETED

About the trip

At over 21,000ft Mera peak is one of the highest trekking peaks on Earth. Situated deep in the high Himalaya in the Makalu Baruntse national park it stands amongst giants. The view from the summit of Mera has often been described as the best on the planet, incorporating 6 of the 10 highest mountains in the world including Everest...

An 18 day adventure into one of the last true wildernesses, a guaranteed game changer.

But its not all about the summit. We will be visiting the current spinal unit in Kathmandu and meeting the people who will be benefitting from the fundraising before heading for the mountains. Believe me spending 18 days on the roof of the world is enough to change anyones perspective on life but meeting and spending time with people who's lives you might change forever will be even more inspiring.

How it went

Ross Hair

I've recently returned from my M2M trek up Mera Peak in Nepal, now armed with a hatful of memories, the sense of a real challenge met - and a great group of people to now call friends. Thanks to Ed and the M2M team, who's planning, advice and encouragement allowed our group to have an unforgettable experience in the mountains, whilst raising funds for a fine cause. The trip was tough but extraordinary, outside the comfort zone but life-affirming. My climb even managed to impress the wife and kids back home, which doesn't happen very often... Would highly recommend future M2M trips.

I believe I speak for all the team when I say how inspiring the M2M mission is. I am so very glad to be in at the beginning, and excitedly wait for updates and developments of the next chapter. In the meantime thank you to Nepal and Nepalese people, culture and landscapes - I crave mountains once more!
