"The problem with travelling around Iceland is that you're basically confronted by a new soul-enriching, breath-taking, life-affirming natural sight every five goddamn minutes. It's totally exhausting." Stephen Markley
We've worked with some of the most experienced guides in Iceland to put together a once in a life-time itinerary that will not only challenge you physically but re-define your definition of adventure. Heading to one of Iceland's most stunning and remote areas we will trek for 5 days surrounded by arctic birch forests, giant glaciers, dramatic waterfalls and towering volcanoes whilst each night camping in locations you could previously only have dreamt of. After 5 days we will reach the Skaftafell National Park where we'll have a day to recover before taking on Iceland's highest peak Hvannadalshnukur (2110m), which also happens to be an active volcano! So 100km self sufficient through arctic wilderness, a traverse of Europe's largest Glacier and an attempt to summit Iceland's highest peak all in one trip; If that doesn't sound like an adventure I don't know what does!
The adventure was a real challenge, both physically and mentally, but at every stage we were supported and encouraged by the excellent guides and team mates. The sense of achievement is indescribable. I simply cannot wait to do it all again. Bring on the next mountain.
I love the mountains; how they make me feel and what I get from being there. An experience completed by the people around me. This was a truly epic trip with Ed and M2M; one that continues to unfold with the feelings and emotions to go with it. Amazing! I'll be smiling about this achievement for a long, long time. Great work team!
I had a chance to really reflect on life and I can honestly say it's one of the best things I've ever done.
