"The problem with travelling around Iceland is that you're basically confronted by a new soul-enriching, breath-taking, life-affirming natural sight every five goddamn minutes. It's totally exhausting." Stephen Markley
After our truly life affirming trip last year how couldn’t we return to the land of ice and fire for round 2. This time we’re heading to the highlands for a trekking adventure that will change your perception of what natural beauty really is. We’ll be hiking past giant waterfalls, across black volcanic sand plains and through arctic birch forests, before bathing in hot pools, singing songs around the camp fire and bedding down in a remote mountain hut, doesn’t sound bad for 1 day does it… Imagine what we’ll have done in 7! When we sat down with Dan our lead guide after the last Icelandic adventure and asked how he could possibly equal or top the trip we just did, he just smiled and said; ‘we’re just getting started.’ To say we’re excited to see what he meant by that is an understatement.
The adventure was a real challenge, both physically and mentally, but at every stage we were supported and encouraged by the excellent guides and team mates. The sense of achievement is indescribable. I simply cannot wait to do it all again. Bring on the next mountain.
I love the mountains; how they make me feel and what I get from being there. An experience completed by the people around me. This was a truly epic trip with Ed and M2M; one that continues to unfold with the feelings and emotions to go with it. Amazing! I'll be smiling about this achievement for a long, long time. Great work team!
I had a chance to really reflect on life and I can honestly say it's one of the best things I've ever done.
